About the project
SIAV Project is a BCI’s initiative to implement a single functional platform for their customers, which can perform real time transaction with checks.
The transactions considered for this project were use an ATM kiosk called SIAV to cash BCI’s checks, and deposit checks coming from BCI and other banks. Through SIAV, the user can cash or deposit a check, anytime, 365 days a year, in the same way he does with a teller.
The core challenge has been to structure processing rules (CAR, LAR, signature, payee, endorsement, date, etc.) so that check transactions can be automated, without the involvement of backoffice. This brought some benefits as improvements on efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
The first stage supposed to structure signature and fields recognition (Car, LAR). To improve recognition results on those fields, IPSA contributed with his experience by integrating A2ia and Mitek in its own Check Processing imaging technology.
Those improved results are exported to BCI’s application.
Currently, this implantation is operating in more than 40 BCI branches in Chile.
