The SIAV project corresponds to an initiative of Banco BCI that consists in the implementation of a functional and integral platform for the clients, capable of performing transactions with bank checks in real time.
The transactions considered for this project consist in the payment of checks of the same bank and the reception of deposits with documents (checks of the same bank and other banks) through a kiosk called SIAV. Therefore, through the SIAV the user can request the payment of BCI checks or carry out deposits with documents in the same way that is done when face to face with a human teller, any time and during the 365 days of the year.
The main challenge was to systematize the process rules (CAR-LAR, signature, payee, endorse, date) in such a way that the check payment transactions are carried out automatically and without the intervention of the back office, with the subsequent efficiency benefits, productivity, and satisfaction at the level of attention to clients.
In the possible systematization framework, during the first stage attention was centered in the recognition of the CAR-LAR and signature fields, for which IPSA integrated the supplier tools with which it maintains corporate agreements at a global level.
In order to substantially improve the recognition percentage of the CAR-LAR and signature fields, IPSA incorporated all its experience in integrating a tool that allows for the management and treatment of images, whose results are placed to the disposal of an application of the BCI as part of the model.
Today this implementation is operating in more than BCI 40 branches in Chile.
