The Atril database is a place where the system stores, securely, documents and data associated to the documents, for its search. It provides the necessary mechanisms so that the stored information can be searched by the different users, managing access in function of the permissions of each user.
The Atril database accepts as a document any type of electronic document object (image, video, or audio) accompanied by a group of associated metadata.
Atril provides a tool, developed under the Ajax technology, that allows defining in the database as many volumes as the installation of each client requires. The intuitive and convenient aspect of the tool allows for a quick and easy configuration making the most of all the benefits provided by this technology.
The Atril database provides applications so that an administrator can search the information stored in the database as well as configuring and navigating through the document hierarchy.
Characteristics
- Unlimited. The database internal structure is designed to support an unlimited number of stored documents.
- Web Search. Object access can be carried out through the Internet or Intranet.
- Version control. Allows control of all the modifications performed on the document.
- Flexibility. It's independent to the concrete storage system, which can be based on a related database (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL…) or on a file system.
- Configurable. We can configure the documents that we want to store hierarchically, and the storage rules that control the physical supports.
- Tracking. We can see the evolution of a document through time, since the system also stores all the modifications carried out on a document (who, what, and where).
- Accessible. In function of their permissions, information is accessible to non-users and processes.
- Manages document priority.
Advantages
- Allows storing office automation files including, image, voice, and video
- Scalability of the database due to unlimited object storage
- Secure access to the data by blocking the document while work is done on it
- Adaptable to the required client database
- Content accessible by third party applications through API DMS
- Use of technology adapted to Web 2.0 environments
